After more than a decade, my focus shifted from custom orders and big time craft shows to submitting pieces for gallery exhibits. Moving to the city core in late 2018 allowed me to pass my art studio on to some excellent humans and alleviated the extra rent/heat bills so that I could step back from the art-life hustle. I do miss living more rurally and having a gorgeous downtown craft hideaway, but the shift has opened up needed space for adapting possibilities.
In 2018 I was invited to collaborate on a submission for the Craft NB show Conversations and loved revisiting the solar printing I had originally been introduced to when I was teaching classes at Open Your Art. It felt right to use foraged items to create rich mono-printed interiors, enhancing more than just the bark featured on many of my book covers.
